Arcane, one of the first digital-first marketing firms in Canada, and one of the largest had a thriving company culture and reputation. The founders, Eric Vardon and John D’Orsay, knew this made Arcane valuable and needed to be protected. They enlisted Stage Left to help them find a suitable buyer that would care for the current clients and employees.
Stage Left was an advocate for the employees as they took on the negotiations of the transaction in November 2019. The sale was finalized in March 2020. Both Vardon and D’Orsay remained as executives and minority shareholders.

ABC COMMUNICATIONS LTD.
ABC Internet, led by Bob Allen and his son Chris, was a pioneer in Fixed Wireless Access systems servicing rural pockets of BC. When it came time for Bob to retire, the father and son team contemplated different options. “It became clear that to retire properly and to reach the true value of his asset, he needed to sell the company” said Chris.
The Allens hired Stage Left to secure the best buyer and streamline the process. Telus showed early interest, but the Allens wanted to shop ABC around. A process which Stage left performed diligently. In the end Telus presented the best offer and ABC Communications was acquired in May 2020.
